BP Energol RC-R 46 - Premium Air Compressor Oil

BP Energol RC-R 46 - Premium Air Compressor Oil

Description
These oils are formulated from highly refined mineral base oils, and incorporate additives that minimize oxidation, deposit-formation, foaming and filter-blocking.
Furthermore, they enhance load-carrying and antiwear properties and combat the effects of water contamination and prevent corrosion.

Applications

Energol RC-R grades are ashless oils recommended for the lubrication of rotors, bearings and gears in rotary compressors, especially the oil-flooded screw type with delivery temperatures of up to 120 °C. Under these conditions it is important that the oil maintains its high lubrication performance. The grades in this range are suitable for both static and mobile systems, operating at ambient temperatures ranging from -25 °C to 50°C. Most rotary applications call for ISO 32 or ISO 46 grades and the higher-viscosities ISO 68 and 100 may be used satisfactorily in reciprocating compressors.
The Energol RC-R oils meet the requirements of the following standards:

  • ISO DP 6521 for mineral oils
  • L-DAA and L-DAB for reciprocating air compressors
  • L-DAH and L -DAG for rotary air compressors DIN 51352 p. II (Pneurop Oxidation Test) and DIN 51506 VD-L

These oils are approved by:

  • Atlas Copco -Sullair
  • Compair / Luchard -Crepelle
  • Burton Corblin -Consolidated Pneumatic Tool

Main Benefits

  • Low deposit-forming tendency
  • Prevention of oil-filter blockage in the presence of water.
  • Excellent anti-wear performance to extend service life of compressors.
  • Rapid separation of oil/air in the air -coalescer for long air-filter life and lower oil-carryover.
  • Powerful water -separation and anti-corrosion characteristics to counter adverse effects of moisture contamination.

BP Energol LPT 32 - Refrigeration compressor oil

BP Energol LPT 32 - Refrigeration compressor oil

Description
The Energol LPT grades are refrigeration compressor lubricants formulated from highly refined naphtenic base oils for use in both large industrial and small domestic refrigeration units.

Applications
The Energol LPT range is formulated to function as lubricants, coolants as well as sealants in refrigerating compressors. They maintain good lubrication properties at the high temperatures reached during the compression phase and good fluidity at the low temperatures within the evaporators. Excellent lubrication of the moving parts in the compressor as well as recycling of the oil, entrained into the system by the refrigerant, are therefore ensured.
The chemical stability of the Energol LPT oils prevents them from reacting with the refrigerants used in refrigeration systems to form potentially disruptive breakdown products. All Energol LPT grades are suitable for use in systems using Ammonia (NH3) or halogenated hydrocarbons. They can also be used where good low temperature flow properties are required in the lubricant.

Main Benefits
The BP range of Energol LPT oils ensure long and trouble-free operation of refrigeration systems through a combination of:

  • High thermal and chemical stability
  • Good temperature/viscosity behaviour
  • Good low temperature flow properties

BP Enersyn LPS 68 - Synthetic Refrigeration Compressor Lubricant

BP Enersyn LPS 68 - Synthetic Refrigeration Compressor Lubricant

Description
The lubricants in this range are formulated from blended alkylated benzene synthetic base stocks, and incorporate additives that give extended oil life and machine cleanliness when used in refrigerator compressors, particularly where ammonia is the refrigerant.
The oxidation stability is superior to that of mineral oils when used in air compressors.

Applications
The Enersyn LPS lubricants possess physical and chemical properties that are highly suited to modern refrigeration equipment. They are recommended for the reciprocating and rotary screw compressors employed in industrial refrigeration systems.

These grades are superior to conventional mineral oil refrigerator lubricants where evaporation temperatures are low (from -60 °C down to -100 °C) and where the refrigerants are of the critical fluorocarbon type (R13, R22 and R502).

They are also the preferred lubricants for ammonia compressors. Because the Enersyn LPS grades have low carbon forming tendencies, they are suitable for air compressors operating with high discharge air temperatures, thereby reducing the risk of fires and explosions.

Main Benefits

  • Excellent chemical stability : resist reaction with refrigerants.
  • High thermal stability, for long life.
  • Low floc point : withstand low evaporation temperatures without wax precipitation.
  • Exceptionally low moisture content : high dielectric strength.
  • Completely miscible with mineral oils, in any proportion.

BP Enersyn RC-S 32 - Synthetic Rotary Air Compressor Lubricant

BP Enersyn RC-S 32 - Synthetic Rotary Air Compressor Lubricant

Description
A range of premium synthetic (non-mineral) lubricants, based on polyalpha-olefin materials.
The lubricants are fully formulated, and contain anti-wear additives to enhance lubrication, anti-oxidants to minimize oxidation and the formation of deposits, and corrosion inhibitors to control the effects of moisture contamination.

Applications
These lubricants have been designed to provide a high level of performance in air compressors working in severe conditions of duty.

The ISO 32 grade is recommended for rotary-screw compressors, and the ISO 68 grade for rotary-vane type.

With their low carbon-formation tendencies and high oxidation resistance, they can also be used in circulatory systems of plain and rolling bearings operating at high temperatures - as in paper-making machinery.

Enersyn RC-S lubricants fully meet the currently defined requirements of the ISO-L-DAH classification for rotary-screw compressor mineral oils, and show excellent oxidation resistance, as assessed by a rotary-compressor oxidation test (ROCOT) drawn from a modified Pneurop oxidation test using Iron Naphthenate catalyst at 120 °C for 1000 hours. Although oxidation test limits of the ISO-LDAC/ G/H/J specifications have not yet been defined, and the ROCOT tests are indicative of high stability, particularly bearing in mind the long hours run. The best evidence for the excellent oxidation stability of the Enersyn RC-S lubricants and their overall high performance is the entirely satisfactory results of service trials carried out using rotary-screw compressors operating in severe conditions (120 °C) for over 4000 hours with no change of lubricant.

Main Benefits

  • Excellent anti-wear performance in arduous conditions of heat and moisture gives long service life for compressors.
  • Compressor internals are kept in clean condition, thereby minimizing maintenance costs.
  • Zinc-free formulation minimizes blockage of oilfilters in the presence of water, and ensures excellent filterability and lubricant cleanliness.
  • Rapid water-separation and powerful anticorrosion characteristics enable the adverse effects of moisture contamination to be avoided.
  • A balanced combination of anti-foam and air release properties ensures rapid separation of air and lubricant in the coalescer equipment, with consequent longer air-filter life and lower carry-over of lubricant.
  • Fully compatible with Energol RC -R mineral oils.
  • Compatible with compressor seals of the type normally used with mineral oils.
  • Low volatility compared to mineral oil, reduces lubricant carry-over.
