Description
The Energol LPT grades are refrigeration compressor lubricants formulated from highly refined naphtenic base oils for use in both large industrial and small domestic refrigeration units.

 

Applications
The Energol LPT range is formulated to function as lubricants, coolants as well as sealants in refrigerating compressors. They maintain good lubrication properties at the high temperatures reached during the compression phase and good fluidity at the low temperatures within the evaporators. Excellent lubrication of the moving parts in the compressor as well as recycling of the oil, entrained into the system by the refrigerant, are therefore ensured.
The chemical stability of the Energol LPT oils prevents them from reacting with the refrigerants used in refrigeration systems to form potentially disruptive breakdown products. All Energol LPT grades are suitable for use in systems using Ammonia (NH3) or halogenated hydrocarbons. They can also be used where good low temperature flow properties are required in the lubricant.

Description
The lubricants in this range are formulated from blended alkylated benzene synthetic base stocks, and incorporate additives that give extended oil life and machine cleanliness when used in refrigerator compressors, particularly where ammonia is the refrigerant.
The oxidation stability is superior to that of mineral oils when used in air compressors.

 

Applications
The Enersyn LPS lubricants possess physical and chemical properties that are highly suited to modern refrigeration equipment. They are recommended for the reciprocating and rotary screw compressors employed in industrial refrigeration systems.

These grades are superior to conventional mineral oil refrigerator lubricants where evaporation temperatures are low (from -60 °C down to -100 °C) and where the refrigerants are of the critical fluorocarbon type (R13, R22 and R502).

They are also the preferred lubricants for ammonia compressors. Because the Enersyn LPS grades have low carbon forming tendencies, they are suitable for air compressors operating with high discharge air temperatures, thereby reducing the risk of fires and explosions.

Applications:

  • Lubrication of cylinders, bearing and seals of all types of refrigerating compressors.

The Castrol Aircol™ SR compressor oil range of premium lubricants are designed for use in rotary screw compressors and are based on polyalphaolefin (PAO) fluids.


Application

Aircol SR is suitable for use in oil flooded rotary screw compressors operating under extreme climatic conditions, harsh environments and severe operating conditions where very high air discharge temperatures (> 100°C) are experienced. These oils are also suitable for use in compressor units operating at normal operating conditions, with the maximum air discharge temperature =/< 100°C, as defined by ISO 6743-3:2003.

For normal operating conditions, these products can be used for extended drain intervals up to 8000 hours.

Aircol SR range is fully compatible with nitrile, silicone, polyurethane and fluropolymer seal materials typically used in compressor units. It is not compatible with butadiene styrene (SBR) or ethylene propylene (EPDM) seals.

Castrol Aircol SN compressor lubricants are high quality synthetic diesters. For use in all types of air compressor, especially reciprocating and rotary screw compressors operating under severe or normal conditions.

 

Application

Castrol Aircol SN compressor lubricants were developed to cope with the severe operating conditions experienced in rotary screw, rotary vane and reciprocating air compressors operating at high compression ratios and high discharge temperatures. Under these conditions Aircol SN compressor oils offer much reduced carbon forming tendencies and extended oil life when compared to mineral oils due to their much higher oxidation resistance. In reciprocating units, Aircol SN grades have up to eight times the service life of mineral oils.
