Castrol Tribol 1100-1000 - Industrial Gear Oil - 4327

Castrol Tribol 1100-1000 - Industrial Gear Oil - 4327

Tribol 1100 Gear Oils with TGOA, represent a significant advancement in gear oil technology. Developed for service in enclosed gear drives, journals and anti-friction bearings, the Tribol 1100 Gear Oils are typically used where heavy and shock load conditions prevail.

Tribol 1100 Gear Oils are manufactured from the highest quality petroleum base oils. Blended into this oil is the latest development in the field of surface improving additives designated TGOA. TGOA is an oil soluble additive package designed to reduce friction while providing surface protection and improvement. The TGOA additive package out performs all other EP and anti-wear additives because of its unique action on frictional surfaces. The TGOA additive package is activated by high specific loads and corresponding temperatures causing a chemical-physical reaction. This results in an equalisation of surface roughness without creating abrasion. Therefore, surface roughness is reduced without the loss of surface material.

The results of the TGOA additive can be compared with a rolling process in the micro-range. The surface roughnesses are gradually levelled and smoothed.

Through smoothing of the working surfaces, the loads are distributed over increasing areas and the actual load-bearing areas are enlarged.

During the running-in process, the TGOA additive package creates an optimum of smooth contact surfaces. If, because of shock loads or stop-and-go operation, surface roughness peaks redevelop, the TGOA additive package is automatically reactivated. Surface roughness is again equalised and lubrication optimised.

Tribol 1100 Gear Oils with TGOA additive package are particularly valuable in the running-in process as well as in applications where surfaces have already been damaged in the micro-range. Typical applications are spur, helical, herringbone, bevel, and planetary gears. They are also used in geared couplings. Tribol 1100 Oils may be used in anti-friction and journal bearings.

User benefits include:

  • Running-in oils or additives are no longer required. Lapping of gears is no longer necessary.
  • Prevention and stopping of running-in pitting if not caused by poor design or heavy overload of the gears.
  • Regeneration of damaged frictional surfaces on a micro scale.
  • Less friction.
  • Less wear.
  • Lower operating temperature.
  • Lower noise level.
  • Longer life of gears and bearings.
  • Reduced maintenance costs.

Quality Standard:

Tribol 1100 Gear Oils exceed minimum requirements according DIN 51517 T3 for CLP gear oils.

  • Tribol 1100 Gear oils are compatible with other petroleum gear oils. - This means that traces of previous oil remaining in the gear case after draining will not pose any problems. However, the beneficial effects of the TGOA additives are reduced when Tribol 1100 Oils are mixed with other gear oils.
  • A thorough cleaning of the gearbox is highly recommended to achieve the maximum benefits of Tribol 1100 Gear Oils.

Castrol Tribol 800-1000 - Synthetic Gear Oils - 4346

Castrol Tribol 800-1000 - Synthetic Gear Oils - 4346

Castrol Tribol™ 800 synthetic gear oils have been developed for the lubrication of heavily loaded gears, bushings and bearings which may operate over a broad range of temperatures from ambient to elevated temperatures (>80°C/176°F). They are particularly intended to extend the service life of both lubricant and machine parts where unusually high operating and oil reservoir temperatures are encountered. The high performance characteristics of Tribol 800 are achieved with select polyalkyleneglycol (PAG) based synthetic fluids. They feature chemical and thermal stability, high viscosity index, water solubility, and compatibility with metals and elastomers most commonly used in machine construction. The naturally high resistance to oxidation of the synthetic base fluid is further enhanced by inhibitors. Corrosion protection is very effective even in the presence of water. Also, a package of high performance additives acts in combination for superior anti-wear and Extreme Pressure (EP) performance.

The Tribol 800 range is especially suited to reservoirs and circulation systems operating at high temperatures because of heat generated in severe service or high temperatures in the application. Castrol Tribol 800’s are intended for all types of heavily loaded gears including spur, bevel and worm gears. Although well suited for all types of gearing and bearings, the Tribol 800 range is particularly effective in controlling wear and reducing friction between sliding surfaces. In addition, they possess a high degree of affinity for cupric metal alloys.

  • Shear stability - the synthetic base offers high viscosity index (VI) without the addition of VI improvers. In service, VI improvers can shear, lowering oil viscosity and reducing protection critical for gear sets and bearings. The naturally high VI of Castrol Tribol 800 assures full protection for components over a wide range of operating temperatures, speeds, and load conditions.
  • Long life, extended drain intervals are possible because of the natural aging and oxidation resistance of the synthetic base fluid. Advanced Castrol Tribol lubrication technology forms friction-fighting, anti-wear films that can significantly reduce local operating temperatures as gear teeth or bearing surfaces come into contact.
  • More protection for components in severe service. The extended EP performance of Tribol 800 offers protection beyond the capabilities of conventional petroleum oils.
  • Wear protection under conditions of extreme temperature fluctuation and high loads.
  • High efficiency and lower oil temperature, especially in worm gear units.
  • High corrosion protection of cast and steel surfaces through special additive packages, even in the presence of water.
  • Compatibility with non-ferrous metals through well-formulated synergistic additives.
  • Potential energy savings as a result of a lower coefficient of friction.
  • Reduction of maintenance costs as a result of significantly increased life of the lubricant.

Additional Information:
Tribol 800 synthetic gear oils are water soluble, so spills may be cleaned up with water. They are NOT compatible with mineral (petroleum) based lubricants. Condensation water may be absorbed without the damage of corrosion or a change in viscosity. Cleaning lubrication systems with a flushing oil or Tribol 800 prior to the first filling is recommended. To achieve long drain cycles and obtain the economic advantages, systems must be free of contaminants.
The Tribol 800 range is compatible with most seals including Viton A and nitrile or Buna N (NBR). 800’s are NOT compatible with neoprene (polychloroprene) and butadiene seals - mixed polymers, stryenebutadienes, polystyrene, or methacrylates.

Castrol Tribol 3020/1000-1 - Duty greases with TGOA® - 4395

Castrol Tribol 3020/1000-1 - Duty greases with TGOA® - 4395

Tribol® 3020/1000 greases are designed for very heavy duty service in adverse environments. Formulated with lithium soap as thickener, high viscosity mineral oil and advanced TGOA® additive system they are able to withstand high continuous loads, shock loads and vibrations. The TGOA® additive package outperforms all other EP and anti-wear additives because of its unique action on frictional surfaces.

Available in 18Kg tins

Typical applications for Tribol® 3020/1000 are in rolling and sliding bearings, bushings, slides and curved tooth couplings, especially where loads are high and relative speeds are low. Such applications are found in heavy duty industries including mining, construction on shore drilling and offshore installations. Application of Tribol® 3020/1000 may be made manually with grease guns or automatic dispensing systems. Temperature operating range from –30°C to +120°C.

Conditions of Use

Tribol® 3020/1000 should not be mixed with greases using a different thickener. Lubrication intervals should be increased gradually to ensure complete removal of previous lubricant and to use the TGOA® additives to their full advantages.

  • Tribol® 3020/1000 offer optimum protection and long life to seals, as well as forming a protective barrier in damaged seals.
  • Reduced friction due to the effect of the TGOA® additives is most evident under boundary and mixed film lubrication conditions. This benefit is most pronounced where frequent start-ups, slow speeds or high and unexpected loads are encountered.
  • Resists centrifugal fling out due to its high base oil viscosity and cohesive characteristics.
  • Operation with longer parts life and extended lubrication cycles.
