Bartran oils display high performance characteristics with outstanding ultra fine filterability.

 

Applications
Bartran oils are formulated for severely stressed hydraulic systems in which high levels of anti-wear performance and/or ultra fine filtration are required.
Examples include modern electro-hydraulic control valves incorporating 0.5 (nominal) micron filters.
The Bartran range is fully compatible with the elastomer materials commonly used for static and dynamic seals, such as :

  • High flash point, fire point and auto-ignition temperature provide excellent fire resistance.
  • The tendency to cause spool valve erosion is closely related to the resistivity of phosphate ester fluids, with low values causing service problems. Resistivity is above 50M Ohm/m – sufficiently high to virtually eliminate valve corrosion/erosion by electro-kinetic effects.
  • Chlorine content – investigations into the causes of valve erosion show the chlorine content to be important. The chlorine content is at a nominal level of 50ppm in order to minimise the possibility of valve erosion.

Application

Brayco 300 is designed for the lubrication and preservation of small arms, automatic weapons, and fuse mechanism applications, especially where a low temperature, water displacing oil is desired. It may be used to protect unpainted metal surfaces from the effects of indoor storage for periods of three to six months, after which it remains readily removable. Brayco 300 will also protect magnesium and aluminum against corrosion at low and medium temperatures (-70°F to 300°F). Brayco 300 may be applied by brush, dip, swab, spray, or squirt can. Depending on the method of application and surface geometries, Brayco 300 will cover 1,000 to 3,000 square feet per gallon. For water displacement, it may be applied by these same methods. Displaced water should be removed from dip tanks at suitable intervals.
