Castrol Duratec LD

Duratec LD is a low ash gas engine oil designed with the total base number required to maintain engine cleanliness, provide resistance to acid corrosion, and protect the engine from wear throughout the lifetime of the oil.

Stationary gas engines are running at higher pressures to deliver greater efficiency and to reduce emissions. This higher Brake Mean Effective Pressure (BMEP) means higher engine temperatures, causing faster oil degradation. Shortened oil drain intervals can lead to an increased risk of engine component failure. Castrol Duratec LD is formulated with modern gas engine additives and high-quality base oils to delay oil degradation and to extend oil drain intervals.

Duratec LD has demonstrated in OEM approval field testing to:

• Maintain engine cleanliness
• Resist corrosion and protect the engine from wear throughout the oil lifetime
• Sustain film thickness, even at high temperatures.
• Delay oil degradation in severe gas engines, prolonging oil life, giving longer drain intervals

Castrol Duratec LD has lasted up to 20% longer than the recommended service interval in severe field trials *

Castrol Duratec LD is approved for use by several OEMs after demonstrating required performance in field testing (all fuel gas class A unless stated otherwise);

• INNIO Jenbacher – all versions of engine types 2,3,4 and 6, including J624
• Rolls Royce
• Waukesha
• MWM (landfill, bio and sweet natural gas)

Castrol Duratec LD also meets the requirements for use in Caterpillar engines. Fuel Gas Class A: Sweet Natural Gas (Sulphur < 200 mg/10 kWh), Associated Petroleum Gas, Mine Gas, Biogas (Sulphur < 200 mg/10 kWh).

Storage:

All packages should be stored under cover. Where outside storage is unavoidable, drums should be laid horizontally to avoid the possible ingress of water and the obliteration of drum markings. Products should not be stored above 60°C or exposed to hot sun or freezing conditions.
